According to reports, the Manchester United board has identified former Barcelona manager Xavi as the “ideal man to rebuild” the club, with Ruben Amorim failing to convince them.
United have been struggling to find consistent form, currently sitting 15th in the Premier League. The Red Devils suffered a 1-0 defeat to Tottenham on Sunday, marking a new low as they have won just four of Amorim’s 14 league matches in charge. Reports from Spain suggest that United are already “looking for a replacement” for Amorim, with the team continuing to lack a clear direction.
The United board is reportedly “considering a change of coach for next season,” and one of the most mentioned names at Old Trafford is former Barcelona boss Xavi.
Amorim was brought in to address the club’s poor form under Erik ten Hag, but the situation has worsened under the Portuguese manager. Some reports claim that United are “thinking” about parting ways with him.
In the January transfer window, United made just one signing, bringing in Patrick Dorgu to assist Amorim with his high-intensity football style. However, Amorim’s philosophy, formation, and approach don’t seem to align with the current squad, yet he remains committed to his principles.
