Man Utd ‘set to sack Ruben Amorim’ as frustration over recurring issue intensifies at Tottenham

Ruben Amorim’s Uphill Battle at Man Utd Worsens After Spurs Defeat

The difficult situation Ruben Amorim inherited at Manchester United continues to deteriorate following Sunday’s 1-0 loss to Tottenham.

United fans have long voiced concerns over the club’s inactivity in the January transfer window, and their frustration only grew after the latest defeat. Many believe the club left Amorim stranded by failing to replace Marcus Rashford and Antony, who departed on loan to Aston Villa and Real Betis, respectively.

With an already thin attack, United pursued Bayern Munich’s Mathys Tel but ultimately abandoned the move due to financial constraints, opting to wait until the summer instead. However, given that the team has scored just 28 goals in 25 Premier League matches this season—failing to find the net in nine of them—supporters were left disheartened.

Some fans are convinced Amorim will be sacked before he gets the backing he needs.

@TheElitePundit predicted on X: “They are going to sack Amorim. Watch. They don’t want to back him.”

Others fear the Portuguese coach may decide to walk away after realizing the scale of the challenge at Old Trafford.

@rxnpixels wrote: “Genuinely wouldn’t blame Amorim for walking away tonight. The club is a shambles! He does United a favor by joining mid-season, and this is how the Glazers and INEOS repay him…”

@MelbourneBlokee added: “Honestly, Rashford and Antony gone. No signings? If I were Ruben Amorim, hand on my heart, I’d quit. Absolute shambles from top to bottom. Embarrassing from every single person running that club.”

Fan Outrage Grows as Man Utd Fail to Back Ruben Amorim

@grholmes39 expressed frustration on X: “I cannot believe @ManUtd and INEOS have failed to support Ruben Amorim. They’ve let him and the fans down completely. Ruben needs to walk away before his reputation is damaged beyond repair—he’s already showing signs of stress.”

United’s goal-scoring struggles were as obvious as the glass panels on the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium roof this weekend.

Spurs, notorious for struggling to hold onto leads in recent home matches, had gone winless in the Premier League at home since November 3. However, Amorim’s misfiring attack failed to capitalize, allowing that streak to end.

United should have avoided an eighth defeat in 14 league games under the 40-year-old, but their wastefulness in front of goal proved costly once again.

In the first half, Rasmus Hojlund squandered a promising chance, firing straight at Guglielmo Vicario. Moments later, Alejandro Garnacho, with ample time and space inside the box, sent his effort soaring over the bar.
