Manchester United confirmed squad members vs Tottenham as club forced to change travel plans

Due to the cancellation of their train on Saturday afternoon, Manchester United will have to take a coach to London for their Premier League matchup versus Tottenham.

Several services were canceled on Saturday afternoon due to a signal failure on the West Coast mainline, and United will now have to travel four hours via road.

After Sunday’s game, United players had parked at Manchester Airport in preparation for flying home, but the team had to quickly find another way to get there.

United had to board a subpar coach on Saturday because the team’s better coaches are already in London to transport the team to and from the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium tomorrow.

Despite the problematic rail routes between Manchester and London Euston, United planned backup plans. Three weeks ago, United’s flight was canceled on Sunday night, forcing them to take a coach back from their final London match against Fulham.

After head coach Ruben Amorim hinted that academy center forward Chido Obi would be added to the matchday squad, strikers Rasmus Hojlund and Joshua Zirkzee left.

Manchester United are facing a growing injury crisis, with Amad, Kobbie Mainoo, Manuel Ugarte, and Toby Collyer all reportedly set to miss the clash against Tottenham. Collyer is sidelined due to illness.

A second coach departed from Carrington, believed to be transporting academy players drafted into the matchday squad as cover.

Ruben Amorim acknowledged concerns over three unnamed players dealing with injuries or illness. “It was a good week until two days ago,” he said on Friday. “We’ve encountered some issues. No players are returning, and we might have one or two concerns, but we’re still assessing.

“One player is also unwell, so we’ll finalize the squad over the weekend. But it was still valuable to work with the team, get a feel for the players, and focus on improving our performance.”

“I don’t want to say names (which could be promoted from the academy) because we have to be careful with that. They are working with us.

“We had some problems this week, we called some young players to be in our training so we will have the data and evaluation and he (Obi) is one of them.”

Confirmed United squad members: Dalot, Mazraoui, De Ligt, Lindelof, Heaven, Fernandes, Casemiro, Garnacho, Zirkzee, Hojlund
