Tonight marks the first time in almost 200 days that the Miami Dolphins will play football.
The Dolphins’ first preseason game of 2024 takes place on Friday at 7 p.m. at Hard Rock Stadium in Miami Gardens against the Atlanta Falcons.
As low as $2 gets fans into Dolphins games, according to online ticket providers. Speedsters Tyreek Hill, Jaylen Waddle, and De’Von Achane will only play limited series if they get the field, while quarterback Tua Tagovailoa is not anticipated to participate.
The biggest drama will probably come from positional fights like Mike White and Skylar Thompson battling for backup quarterback, although rookies Chop Robinson, Jaylen Wright, and Malik Washington are slated to make their debuts.
The Dolphins finished 11-7 the previous season and came just short of winning the AFC East before losing to the Kansas City Chiefs in the Wild Card round of the NFL playoffs 209 days ago.
Late in July, Tagovailoa signed a historic $212.4 million, four-year contract extension to guarantee his position as the Dolphins’ starting quarterback.

In the third quarter, both teams were limited to a field goal, and in the fourth quarter, neither team was able to score. Late in the fourth quarter, Miami forced a turnover on downs within its own red zone.
