In their Western Conference Finals series against the Minnesota Timberwolves, the Dallas Mavericks are leading.
The Mavericks are returning home for Game 3 of the NBA Playoffs on Sunday after winning the first two games of the series away from home.
A boisterous crowd is expected for the game, eager to witness if their side can secure a decisive 3-0 lead in the series, which would almost guarantee their place in the NBA Finals.
However, the Mavericks’ best player recently received some potentially disastrous news.
The Mavericks declared 90 minutes before to Game 3’s start time that Luka Doncic is doubtful due to right knee pain.
After Doncic completes his pregame warmups, it will be decided if he is healthy enough to participate in Game 3.
Doncic should probably be playing if the Mavericks were trailing 0–2 in the series. To make sure Doncic is well enough for the remaining games of the series and the championship round, Dallas is understandably being careful at this time.
Whether Doncic plays in Game 3 is a matter of time.
