Taylor Decker, a left tackle for the Detroit Lions, was an integral part of the squad that played in the previous season. It was recently stated that Decker and the Lions have reached an agreement on a contract extension, which may result in Decker remaining with the team.
The Detroit Lions and Taylor Decker reached an agreement on Sunday to extend Decker’s contract for three years at a total value of sixty million dollars.
The deal contains $31.83 million in guaranteed money and keeps Decker with the team until the 2027 season.
Decker was entering the final year of his previous contract, which was due to pay him $13.7 million for the 2024 season.
As the longest-tenured member on the Lions’ roster, Decker has been a big part of the offensive line since being picked 16th overall in 2016 from Ohio State.
His 112 starts are the most by any Lions player, exceeding the next closest by 32 starts.

This agreement follows the Lions’ recent pattern of solidifying their offensive line, coming only months after right tackle Penei Sewell inked a four-year, $112 million extension in April.
Taylor Decker and the Detroit Lions start begin the 2024 preseason on Aug. 8 with a game against the New York Giants.
