Washington, a Frisco native, joined the Dallas Mavericks at the 2024 trade deadline for Grant Williams, Seth Curry, and draft capital. In his whole NBA career with the Charlotte Hornets, he had never achieved team success, but he made an immediate impact with the Mavs.

Washington helped the Mavericks finish the season with 50 wins and the 5th Western Conference seed. Washington’s postseason highlights were “Standing on Business” against the Clippers in the first round and scoring the series-winning free throws against the Thunder in the second.

Dallas has welcomed Washington back and enjoyed his enthusiasm and toughness on his hometown team.
