breaking news:michigan coach finally made his decision that he is…..

Some thoughts on Michigan football head coach Jim Harbaugh and the potential contract extension.

Aside from Alabama and the Rose Bowl, every Michigan football fan has one question on their minds: What will Jim Harbaugh do?

Will he accept the rumored five-year, $55-million extension? Will Harbaugh look for another NFL job?

It’s unclear what NFL opportunities Jim Harbaugh might have. However, the Raiders and Chargers would both make sense. He has connections to those franchises.ESPN analyst believes Jim Harbaugh will coach Bears | Yardbarker

But there’s a lot to think about, including his family. However, there is a reason why Harbaugh has not signed the deal that would have extended his tenure as Michigan football coach while also making him the highest-paid coach in the Big Ten.

The contract reportedly includes a clause stating that Harbaugh will not consider NFL offers in 2024. That could be one of the reasons Harbaugh hasn’t signed it yet, though The Wolverine’s Chris Balas reports that Harbaugh’s lawyers are “asking for more guarantees.”

It’s unclear whether that means money or language to shield Harbaugh from the NCAA investigation. Harbaugh is undoubtedly focused on the Rose Bowl and winning the national championship.

But if that happens — a national championship — and the Raiders offer Harbaugh the job, it might be difficult to say no. Harbaugh could even draft J.J. McCarthy if he declares for the NFL draft.Jim Harbaugh Claims He and Wife Will Raise Any Player or Staffer's Baby

Give Harbaugh a quarterback like that for the next 5-10 years, and he could have a legitimate shot at winning the Super Bowl. It’s difficult to blame him if Michigan football wins the national championship.

I wouldn’t blame him if the Wolverines didn’t win the championship. Harbaugh has led Michigan football to three consecutive Big Ten championships, which seemed unthinkable just a few years ago.

Harbaugh owes Michigan nothing more than what he has already given. I want him to stay, as he promised after being approached about the Vikings job. Redardless, if Harbaugh leaves for the NFL after this season, all I have to say is thank you.

Harbaugh is deserving of it. My hope is that Sherrone Moore will be retained as the next head coach, which will hopefully keep things moving forward.
